safety minivan I need advice on a minivan or a wagon…?
I will be buying a van or a wagon when we get our tax return. I need advice on which make & model is best on safety and gas milage. I wont have enough to get a new vehical but will be buying a used one, so i need advice on what is to many miles and all that good stuff. We are having our fourth child in june and will need a bigger vehical so any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
avoid plymouth voyagers, dodge caravans, and chrysler town & country. having worked on many vehicles, i’ve found these to be the most problematic. chevy, buick and pontiac vans & wagons have been the least troublesome, with the exception of the chevy astro/gmc safari. of course, ALL cars have their problems, but the ones i’ve cautioned against have more than their share. i recommend the chevy venture if u can afford a good used one. also, i wood shy away from buying any vehicle with more than 100,000 miles on it unless i was to personally look at it. i recently bought a 1990 ram van for 200 bucks…it had 275,000 miles on it. it’s still going strong as ever, while my ex bought a 1983 jeep wagoneer with 78,500 miles on it for 1800 bucks, and it sits, waiting for the transmission to get repaired or replaced. hope u get a good deal n a good vehicle
