BMW Xenon Headlights, help?….Please, about (2002-2005) 3 series models?
My friend recently bought a 2003 BMW 325i sedan with 47K miles, pretty hard to find with the factory Navigation system, Xenons and the Sport package. Anyway my question is… is it normal or possible for Xenon projector headlights to begin waring off in terms of color. I have seen other 2002-2005 3 series models lined up next to his with white factory Xenon headlights that look like they illuminate like they are suppose to, but my friends xenons look more of a shade of yellow white instead of just pure white?? Does he have to replace them or are they beggining to ware off because of the year? basically is there a point in where xenon headlights begin to go bad?
Factory xenon HID lights are not white, but come in a slight shade of yellow (4500k color temperature). However some owners choose to change out the HID bulbs to 6000k or higher color temperature which may appear “nicer”, but in fact offers less visibility at night and poor weather since our eyes are more sensitive to the slightly yellower shade of light.
