Do any of the less expensive Garmin Navigation systems run on batteries?

My car lighter is broken. It’s not the fuse and I dont want to spend the money to get it fixed. I cant plug a Garmin into the car lighter to make it work. Do the Less expensive Garmin’s or any other nav system run on battery power?

The unit will typically have an internal battery which can hold a charge of roughly four hours. I’m not familiar with any unit that runs off of AA batteries. You could just buy an AC adapter and charge it inside prior to use. However, you’d be in trouble if you intend on traveling further than four hours. Not to mention internal battery life does decrease over the course of time. I know you mentioned you don’t want to pay to have your cigarette lighter repaired, but Best Buy could hardwire the unit for $50.
