minivan stuck
Minivan vs. Sedan I have a toddler who will be expected to be on a booster seat soon.?
We just discovered we are pregnant with twins. Does anyone know if there is any sedan out-there roomy enough to accomodate 2 car seats and a booster? I know minivan is the standard way to go but I really do not fancy them at all. Am i stuck with them? What about mid-size SUV’s?
Why will your toddler be in a booster seat? Experts don’t recommend boosters till *at least* age 4 and 40 pounds. Small children have died from being in boosters too soon. (Check out ‘Belle’s Gift’ on youtube)
I’d leave the toddler in a forward facing carseat. If he has outgrown his current seat look into something like the Graco Nautilus that will harness him to 65 pounds and *then* convert to a booster seat.
A forward facing seat will often ‘puzzle piece’ nicely with two rearfacing seats in a sedan. I’ve done it myself. However, honestly… for me it is *so* much easier to get kids in and out of a minivan. Just picture yourself climbing over the baby to buckle the toddler day after day… it really is a pain in the neck. Any decent sized car will fit three across the back… but it will not be fun to live with.
