where can I find schematics to run my car on batteries?
I research on the internet but no luck. I want to run my minivan only on car batteries. I found a guy on youtube who did it but he doesn’t explain how to do it.
From your question, I suggest you not attempt to build the system your self. Purchase a conversion kit, or have it done.
The high tech part of the system is the motor controller/battery charging system. It needs to provide power to the electric motor, and then take power from the electric motor and put it back in the batteries (aka regenerative braking) as you slow down.
A minivan is good because there is a lot of space down low for batteries. It is not so good because it is not very aerodynamic.
As noted in the links below, you want one with a manual transmission – but a clutch is not required, so you do not have to figure out how to install a clutch pedal if you are minivan currently has an automatic. And you only need two or three gears at most.
