What is the criteria for returning a 360 to walmart with an extended warranty?
I’m thinking about buying an 360 from walmart and getting the extended warranty, but I am also planning on opening the xbox to “add cooling”. If the box RRODs, will I be able to take it back to walmart and get a new one?
Once you open the XBOX 360, you void the warranty. There are people who claim being able to open it and keep the security sticker intact, but you’re on your own if it doesn’t work.

Personally, I have had an XBOX 360 for about 2 years now with no extra ‘cooling’ and have had zero problems with it. I keep it on an open TV stand in a room with good air circulation. I also have it sitting on it’s end on a wire rack that keeps it 3-4 inches off the surface of the TV stand. This allows for free circulation of air around the unit.
Lack of good air circulation allows heat to build up around the unit and cause problems.
