Is it possible to fit a CD player head unit into the dash of a classic mini?

The mini has an aftermarket walnut veneer dashboard and i was wondering if there is enough room to fit a cd player in this rather than have it mounted elsewhere.
I know there isn’t a lot of depth in the dash to sink a player in but any suggestions would be appreciated.
