auto lease minivan
Had to lease another car, after ending w/another. Need to refi house in 1/09. How will my credit look?
We paid $455/mo. on the old lease ($25K minivan), b’cuz it carried a previous auto loan when we had to upgrade to a minivan w/a growing family. Lease ended on the minivan, so got into another lease and payments are higher, b’cuz the car price is higher ($36K car). We are paying $655/mo. now on a 48 mo. term. We need to refi our home loan in 1/09 before the reset. How will mortgage lenders view me 6 mos. from now? Couldn’t avoid NOT getting another vehicle, but wonder if the higher mo. payment will show negatively and drop my score.
The amount of the payment will not be a factor in your credit score- but could be in the qualification of income to obligations, there will be a tiny hit for a hard credit check. Having a mortgage loan and an auto loan or lease that are paid as agreed are good items to raise your overall score.
