how can i get my piranhas to be more active with there aquarium light on?

i have a light that i keep on all the time, also I have no heater so my tank temperature is lower around 68 degrees farenheit to be exact. Could the light and temperature be the reason for thier inactivity? Btw they are red bellied piranhas and they are four to five months old. Anything will help thank you so much.
ok thanks everyone but i do have one thing to say i was turning my light off at night but then when i turn it back on they swim under gravel and dart into walls so it either has to be on or off what do i do then?

Temps for piranhas should be ten degrees higher than your tank is. And a fish tank needs to be dark at night so the fish have their time out for sleeping, as well. I would think not only is he cold he is stressed from not enough resting hours.

I have no idea why stores sell red belly piranhas. They can get very large.
